Concessions
Concession tickets cost around half the full fare, and are available for most ticket types.
Passengers can travel on concession Metcards if they are aged under 15 or carry an approved Victorian Concession Card.

Holders of the following cards are eligible to purchase concession fares.
- Victorian Public Transport Primary and Secondary Student Concession Card
- Victorian Public Transport Tertiary Student Concession Card
- Australian Pensioner Concession Card
- Victorian Seniors Card

Concessions do not necessarily apply to CountryLink, Great Southern Railway, airport services, tourist railways, privately run bus services and chartered trains, trams and buses. Please check with the relevant operator before booking or travelling.
Concession cards are not transferable and must be carried at all times when travelling. They are not valid if they have been tampered with or damaged.
A seat may be reserved on V/Line reserved services for infants free of charge.
Remember – You must carry a valid concession card at all times when travelling on a concession ticket. If you don’t, your concession ticket is invalid for travel and you could be fined.
Travel Pass Privacy Policy
Types of passes available
As part of its service to customers, Metlink Victoria Pty Ltd ("Metlink") provides discounted or special travel passes to eligible customers for use on the Victorian public transport network. This Travel Pass Privacy Policy relates to these travel passes. Information on all of these passes is available by contacting Metlink though our Website or by mail.
Personal information we collect
In order to determine your eligibility for these travel passes and issue the relevant pass to you, it is necessary for us to collect personal information from you. This information usually includes your name, address, contact details, photo, type of pass you require and proof of eligibility for the relevant travel pass that you have applied for.
How we use your personal information
All of your personal information provided to us will be handled in accordance with the Metlink Privacy Policy. We will use the personal information you provide to us to determine your eligibility for a travel pass, issue a pass to you and later a myki card, to remind you of renewal dates for your pass, or to contact you in relation to your pass when reasonable. We may also use your personal information for any of the reasons set out in the Metlink Privacy Policy.
Access to your personal information
You may request access to any personal information that we hold about you in accordance with the Metlink Privacy Policy at any time. You may also request that any incorrect personal information that we hold about you is corrected in accordance with the Metlink Privacy Policy.
This Travel Pass Privacy Policy is to be read in conjunction with the Metlink Privacy Policy, a copy of which is available from the Metlink website or the Metlink office.
